Privacy Policy for Fleck: AI Journal
Effective date: June 22, 2026
Fleck is a voice-first journaling app designed to help you capture short moments, transcribe them, and generate daily reflections or sketches from your own journal entries. This Privacy Policy explains what information Fleck processes, how that information is used, when information may leave your device, and the choices available to you.
1. Information Fleck may process
Depending on how you use the app, Fleck may process the following types of information:
- voice journal recordings you create in the app;
- transcript text generated from your recordings;
- typed journal entries, edits, and other journal-related text you create in the app;
- journal context and generated reflections or sketches, including recent journal context used to create AI-generated summaries or sketches;
- subscription and entitlement information, such as subscription status, restore status, product identifiers, and related purchase information handled through Apple, Google Play, and RevenueCat;
- paywall and subscription interaction data, such as paywall impressions or entitlement checks used to operate subscriptions; and
- support communications, if you contact us for help.
Your journal entries may contain sensitive personal information depending on what you choose to record or write. Fleck processes this content only to provide the app’s journaling, transcription, reflection, subscription, export, and support features.
2. How Fleck uses information
Fleck uses information to:
- let you record, write, save, edit, export, and revisit journal entries;
- transcribe audio recordings when transcription runs;
- generate AI reflections, daily sketches, or related journaling output when those features are used;
- manage subscriptions, restores, entitlement status, and access to paid features;
- troubleshoot issues and provide support if you contact us; and
- maintain and improve the reliability of the app.
Fleck does not sell your journal content.
3. Local-first storage
Fleck is designed as a local-first journaling app. Audio recordings, transcripts, generated sketches, typed entries, edits, and related journal metadata may be stored locally on your device. This means that much of your journal experience is kept on the device you use to run Fleck.
However, some features require sending data to third-party services, as described below.
4. When data leaves your device
Transcription
When you record a voice fleck and transcription runs, your audio recording may be sent to Deepgram so that Deepgram can generate a text transcript.
AI reflections and sketches
When you use AI reflection or sketch features, transcript text, typed journal text, edits, and relevant recent journal context may be sent to Google Gemini so that Gemini can generate the requested reflection, sketch, or related output. This may include text from the current journal entry and limited recent context needed to provide the feature.
If automatic daily sketch generation is enabled, Fleck may send completed transcripts and limited recent journal context to Google Gemini when the app checks for missing or stale daily sketches. You can turn automatic daily sketch generation off in Fleck settings and generate sketches manually instead.
Subscriptions
When you purchase, restore, or manage a subscription, Apple, Google Play, and RevenueCat may process subscription, purchase, restore, entitlement, product identifier, and paywall-related information in order to provide billing and subscription access.
Journal export
If you export your journal, Fleck creates a Markdown file on your device and opens the native share sheet. Original audio recordings are not included in the export. The privacy of exported files depends on where you choose to save or share them.
5. Third-party services
Fleck currently uses the following third-party services:
- Deepgram for audio transcription;
- Google Gemini for AI-generated reflections and sketches;
- RevenueCat for subscription and entitlement management;
- Apple for App Store billing, purchases, refunds, and subscription management on iOS; and
- Google Play for Android app distribution, billing, purchases, refunds, and subscription management.
These providers process information according to their own terms and privacy policies. Fleck does not control every aspect of how third-party providers process data after it is sent to them.
We do not intentionally use your journal content to train our own AI models.
6. Tracking and advertising
Fleck does not use third-party advertising, IDFA-based ad tracking, or App Tracking Transparency advertising flows based on the current app implementation.
Fleck may process limited product, subscription, entitlement, or paywall interaction data through services such as RevenueCat to operate subscriptions and paid features. This data is not used by Fleck for third-party advertising.
7. Data retention and deletion
Journal data stored locally on your device may remain on your device unless you delete it in the app, delete the app, or otherwise remove the app’s local data from your device.
Where Fleck provides in-app deletion features, deleting an entry removes that entry from the app’s local storage on your device.
Data already processed by third-party services, such as transcription, AI generation, billing, or entitlement providers, may be retained by those providers according to their own policies and legal obligations.
If you contact support, we may retain your support communications for as long as reasonably necessary to respond, troubleshoot, maintain records, or comply with legal obligations. You can contact us at support@getveld.ai with privacy-related questions or deletion requests related to support communications.
8. Subscriptions and billing
Fleck subscriptions are handled through the app store for your device. On iOS, purchases and subscription management are handled through Apple’s App Store billing system. On Android, purchases and subscription management are handled through Google Play billing. Apple or Google may process payment, purchase, refund, subscription, and account information according to their own terms and privacy policies. Fleck does not directly receive your full payment card details.
RevenueCat helps Fleck determine whether your subscription is active and whether paid features should be available. RevenueCat may process subscription status, product identifiers, entitlement status, restore events, and related subscription data.
You can manage or cancel subscriptions through your Apple account settings or Google Play account settings, depending on where you purchased the subscription.
9. Children’s privacy
Fleck is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information through Fleck, please contact us at support@getveld.ai.
10. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information processed by Fleck. However, no app, device, network, or service can be guaranteed to be completely secure. You should use care when recording sensitive information and should protect access to your device.
11. AI-generated content disclaimer
Fleck’s AI-generated reflections and sketches are intended for personal journaling and reflection. They are not medical, mental health, legal, financial, or professional advice. Fleck is not a crisis, emergency, therapy, or healthcare service.
If you are in danger, in crisis, or need urgent help, contact local emergency services, a crisis hotline, or a qualified professional.
12. International users
The third-party services used by Fleck may process information in the United States or other countries where they or their service providers operate. By using Fleck, you understand that information may be processed in countries that may have privacy laws different from those in your location.
13. Your choices
You can choose not to use features that send data to third-party services. For example:
- if transcription does not run, your audio does not need to be sent to Deepgram for transcription;
- if you do not use AI reflection or sketch features, your journal text does not need to be sent to Google Gemini for those features;
- you can turn off automatic daily sketch generation in Fleck settings and generate sketches manually instead;
- you can manage subscriptions through your Apple account settings or Google Play account settings; and
- you can contact support@getveld.ai with privacy questions or support-related data requests.
Some features may not work without the third-party processing required to provide them.
14. Changes to this Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the effective date above and may provide additional notice where appropriate.
15. Contact
